Lots of new stuff and much more coming! Blank Newsletter Problem Fixed: I believe that we have fixed the problem with our newsletter showing up as a blank email for many of you that are using web based email. Hopefully, some of you are seeing our newsletter for the first time. More Free Practice Test Questions: I have added 15 new questions to our Cisco BSCI exam making a total of 95. This exam is done for now. I have also added 9 new questions to our CCNA exam making a total of 211. Expect to see a bunch of new Linux+ questions in the coming week. New Cisco Study Guide: We have added a short CCNA tutorial titled, "How Ethernet CSMA/CD Works". This tutorial was contributed by Chris Bryant, CCIE #12933. New Microsoft Study Guide: I have noticed quite a few questions on permissions in the forums over the last couple of months, so I threw together a supplemental study guide for Windows 2000/2003 NTFS and Share Permissions. If there is anything that you would like to see added to this guide, please let me know. New Salary Calculator: I have added a new salary calculator to our Career & Jobs section of the site. The calculator will convert a yearly salary into monthly, weekly, and hourly wages, and vice versa. Training Directory Update: I have updated the book sections for CompTIA's Network+, Linux+, and Server+. Unfortunately, there are currently no new books available for Server+ so the category is empty at the moment. I have also moved all of our links to other free sites into our Training Directory and added a new category for good general tech sites. Spring Cleaning: Over the last couple of weeks, I have been doing one of my least favorite chores. Cleaning up the site. I have gone through and removed all of the broken links, improved the navigation, and fixed some other random problems. It was long overdue.
Microsoft has announced that they will be delaying the addition of simulation questions to the 70-293 and 70-294 exams. The delay is to prevent rollout problems experienced with the 70-290 and 70-291 exams. The new target date will be sometime in late August or early September. Read the full article.
According to an article on MCPmag, the Microsoft Learning Group announced that the Microsoft Certified Architect Program, a board-level certification, just completed a beta phase. During this phase, 39 people were selected to participate in the program and 2 Microsoft employees, have already earned this new designation. In addition, Microsoft has posted information about the program on their web site, including a description of the rigorous requirements. For more information, go here.
CompTIA launched the beta version of their updated CDIA+ exam on June 3rd under exam code 226-030. The CDIA+ certification is for document imaging professionals and was last updated in April of 2002. For for more information, read the press release.
